A Feast for the Senses—Thai Green Curry and Ambiance at Raum Gallery

I arrived in Tulum on Friday, October 5th, to spend a few relaxing days in a private villa. The weekend was filled with swimming and practicing my ukulele—just a slow, quiet escape from the usual hustle. As I was heading to the Ado bus station to catch a ride back to the city, it hit me—I hadn’t even begun to explore the culinary scene of Tulum.

So I made the spontaneous decision to extend my stay and dive into the flavors of the town. I checked into Maui Hostel Tulum and began to roam.

One night, I stumbled upon this magical ramen spot—Raum Gallery. The soft red lighting, the vining plants draping over a wooden porch, the cool mix of indoor and outdoor spaces—it all beckoned me to return. The place had this rustic, repurposed vibe, filled with quirky art and small tables, perfect for gathering with friends. I knew I had to come back.

Fast forward to October 11th, 2024—after Hurricane Milton had passed, I met up with some new friends to chat about business opportunities at Radio Tulum. Afterward, the hunger for ramen led us through winding markets and tucked-away street vendors as I swapped stories with a local chef and an entrepreneur. Our destination: Raum Gallery.

In true Tulum fashion, we bumped into another friend along the way, who quickly joined our ramen quest. Once we arrived, I spoke with the manager, got his approval to film, and asked for his recommendation. He suggested their famous Thai Green Curry with Pork, boasting a "secret" curry recipe. Before settling in, I had to capture some photos of the cozy, eclectic interior—decorated with repurposed art and artifacts. And, to my surprise, even the tiny restroom was wallpapered with Asian anime porn, adding to the charm of the restaurant’s quirky personality. It’s these bold, playful touches that make the dining experience not just a feast for the palate but for the eyes and the mind.

Our small group shared stories about travel, relationships, and finding happiness in the present moment as we waited for the food. It’s these moments of connection that define what dining is really about for me: laughter, deep conversation, and shared experiences under a starry night sky.

When the ramen arrived, it was time to film the review. You can check out the full details of the dish, from the noodles to the curry, in the video link above. But after the cameras were off, the night continued—good food, great company, and the kind of evening that reminds you why we gather around the table in the first place.

This experience isn't just about Tulum. It’s about what food does—bringing people together, sparking conversation, and making the present moment just a little more delicious.

Wherever you are, I hope you find the time to sit down, share a meal, and connect with new faces. That’s the magic.
