Thank you for taking the time to sit with us. Would you mind kicking things off by sharing a little bit about you and your business?
Thank you for having me! I’m David, the pitmaster behind Jordy’s Barbecue. Our business is all about bringing authentic Central Texas-style barbecue to the Colorado community. We specialize in slow-cooking premium cuts like brisket, pulled pork, and ribs to perfection, using a custom 500-gallon smoker that’s a unique feature of our mobile setup. Each dish is prepared with high-quality ingredients and a dedication to traditional techniques, offering a genuine BBQ experience wherever we go. It's a passion of mine to share this style of cooking, and I’m thrilled to see it resonate with so many here.
So, a question many people have is "How did the business get started?" Would you mind sharing a little background on the history of the business?
Absolutely! Jordy’s Barbecue began from a deep-rooted passion for Texas-style BBQ that I developed over the years. I started out cooking for friends and family, just experimenting and honing my skills with smoking meats. Seeing people’s reactions and hearing how much they loved it planted the idea of taking it further. Eventually, I decided to go all in and turn it into a business so I could share that experience with a larger crowd. We started with a food trailer, which has allowed us to bring our BBQ to breweries, events, and even private gatherings. The journey has been incredible, and every step has confirmed for me that good barbecue brings people together in a unique way.
Everyone loves a secret. Can you share something about your business, or a menu item, that most people might not know?
Jordy’s Barbecue is the only food trailer in Colorado with a 500-gallon smoker built right onto the trailer! That smoker is the heart of our operation and allows us to slow-cook our brisket for 18 hours, giving it that authentic, smoky flavor that people love. We’re all about quality over quantity, so we use only the best cuts of meat and put time and care into every single item. That commitment to craft is what really sets us apart.
This is a fun one. We know that in business, location and ambiance matter. Tell us about the area you are in, and what is something people might not notice about your location?
Operating out of a food trailer gives us a unique kind of flexibility—we get to bring Jordy’s Barbecue right into the heart of local breweries, pop-ups, and events across Colorado! Our setup might look straightforward, but we’ve designed it to be a complete, authentic barbecue experience on wheels. Something people might not notice is that our trailer isn't just for show; it’s equipped with a 500-gallon smoker, so all that slow-smoked flavor is created on-site, right where people are gathering to enjoy it. It's a little piece of Texas-style BBQ right here in Colorado, wherever we go!
