Sharing a local’s love of dining

Welcome to the One Bite Foodie Community! We’re thrilled to have you here. Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself and your journey as a food reviewer or influencer?

I realized I loved food in about the fourth grade. From then on I became an avid patron of restaurants both in New Orleans and abroad.

So, a question everyone seems curious about: how did you get into food reviewing? What sparked your passion for sharing your culinary experiences?

I was asked to do a review of a restaurant in New Orleans. I found the experience both exhilarating and challenging. I’m continuing to work on that skill set, but one thing is for sure: if writing a review entails that I get to visit a new restaurant, I’m in!

We can’t wait to see the awesome content you’ll be sharing! Could you share a bit about the kind of content you typically create and what makes it special to you?

In addition to writing reviews, within the last several days I was asked to guest host The Food Show on WGSO 990 AM radio in New Orleans. That turned out to be a wonderful experience, two hours of talking to my cohost (friend) and the general public about food not only in New Orleans but all over the country. (The two hour broadcast is on the radio station‘s website, in the podcasts section.)

Each Foodie has their own story and experiences that shape their reviews. What’s your unique perspective, and what kind of impact do you want your content to have on your viewers?

I’d like to think that I am one of the regular patrons at restaurants. Writing and speaking about food is a passion, not an obligation. It comes from my heart. I’m in it to win it both for the reader/listener, as well as the restaurant – I want all the restaurants to succeed. On that point: perhaps New Orleans is not unique in the way its citizens supported restaurants, but it’s certainly among the top cities in the US that does so.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights with us. Do you have any final thoughts or advice for our readers before you go?

Get out and dine in your community! Try every place, and try everything. And don’t be shy about courteously informing establishments where you think an improvement might be made. Most good restaurants appreciate that type of feedback.

Great message! Thanks for sharing with us today!

It’s been my distinct pleasure to share with you and your readers!
